Owner/Manager was a champ - super friendly and treated us like regulars. Super friendly staff. Garlic fries were great. Steak and cheese was great. Great hamburger. No bathrooms and limited seating.
It was our first time in this beautiful place and you must say that it was more than delicious, the kindness, the place is cozy and the taste of the food is second to none, thanks to the staff for making our visit wonderful, we will definitely return.
The food was so fresh and hot, everything tasted phenomenal. You cannot go wrong with getting the homemade burgers and fries they cook everything to order. The service was excellent, everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. 10/10 would come back again.
Wow, what a phenomenal spot. I grew up in south Jersey, have had cheese steaks in some of the best spots in Philly and beyond. This place stands shoulder to shoulder with some of the all time greats. All the ingredients taste fresh and delicious, hand made, home made. The fries were fresh and crispy. I inhaled my sandwich, it was SO SO GOOD. And the owners are so warm and welcoming. I was a first timer, and they hosted me graciously, treating me to some treats on the house, allowing me to sit and relax and enjoy, no rush to pay and scarf down my meal like other take out spots. I felt taken care of and appreciated as a customer, unlike what you normally get at similar institutions. Cannot wait for my next meal here
Absolutely amazing find! We were in town for a tournament and stumbled on this true gem of a place. The food was incredible, hands down the best cheesesteak this side of South Philly. Victor was welcoming from the moment we walked in, took the time to walk us through the menu, and his recommendations were spot on. What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail and all the extras. The homemade potato chips were fresh, perfectly crisp, and seriously addictive. The Cajun fries were next level, packed with flavor and just the right amount of kick. And then there are the sauces, Victor’s own Verde sauce and house-made hot sauces add a whole new dimension to everything on the menu. You can tell a lot of thought and pride goes into every item. There are so many options we didn’t even get to try everything, which just gives us more reason to come back. I had a great experience coming into Blue Cactus for lunch today. The food is made to order and comes out fresh and hot. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the place is vibrant. I got the Traditional Cheese steak, Waffle Fries, and the Limeade. Everything was delicious and very generously portioned. I got to try the chips and the homemade hot sauce as well, both of which were excellent. I will be back, and I'm getting dessert next time!
Amazing food here. Pretty much has anything that you could want from a deli. The employees were extremely friendly and quick to help us. The food takes 10-15 if you walk in, which means everything is prepared fresh! My go to here is a chicken quesadilla. I mean just look at it! Loaded with cheese and chicken. The food is really tasty and fresh and you taste it in every bite. Will be coming back!
Bringing my boys to Blue Cactus was honestly one of those experiences that reminds you how great a simple family outing can be. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly accommodating, patient, and genuinely kind, which made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable rather than stressful. It’s clear they’re used to families and go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable. The food absolutely delivered. The Triple Threat sandwich was a standout. It was packed with flavor, perfectly put together, and easily one of the best things on the menu. You can tell there’s real attention to quality. The fries were crisp and well-seasoned, and the tenders were a big hit, juicy, flavorful, and kid-approved without sacrificing taste. For my youngest, the buttered noodles were simple but perfect—done just right and exactly what you want when feeding a picky eater. It’s those little touches that make a big difference. All in all, it’s a spot that nails the balance between great food and a family-friendly environment. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back.
Awesome experience. Team was so kind when we said it was our first time visiting. They did that thing where they assume nothing- they explained things so thoroughly, ran food out to us outside, etc. They understand hospitality more than a lot of other quick dining places. Homemade potato chips were great, as was the seasonal watermelon juice. The Caprese sandwich was like the perfect adult grilled cheese on crisp bread, and the chili portion was so big my husband couldn’t finish it.
